nothing is wrong. you need to add an effect or a transition to the clip. the Inspector is where you change the settings for applied effects. Until you add an effect, there's nothing to display there. Left top of the interface is where you'll find the Effects tab, from which you can browse effects and transitions. If you have launched Resolve after you have the iMac acting as a second screen, and the Dual Screen menus are grayed out, then apparently Resolve does not think that's an actual second screen. This is how: Move the playhead to the frame you want to freeze. Select the Blade tool and cut the clip on the playhead. Move one frame forward with the right arrow key. Cut the clip on the playhead.
